Lovington loses, Wheelock injured

Only hours after I went on about Lovington's big start this season and their standout net player, Ruthie Wheelock, Wheelock was injured in a loss to Windsor.
Coach Amanda Doggett wrote in a fax that Wheelock went down with an ankle injury half way through the first game, and she then went to the hospital to get an X-ray.
The Lady Panthers lost the game 16-25, 22-25. Wheelock had one kill before she was injured, and Lanna Trower had five kills and Colie Kuhns served three aces.
For more game stories, quotes from Doggett and pics, see Wednesday's News-Progress. Check back to the Grinding It Out blog for an update on Wheelock's condition.
